The National Association of Hispanic Journalists is now in the process of vetting the candidates who received enough signatures to qualify for a spot on the ballot for board elections.
This is a list of candidates that I am aware of who are seeking seats on the board of directors of NAHJ, along with their eligibility status (if I know it).
This is not an endorsement list. That may or may not come later. It is also not an official list of all candidates.
I asked all members in good standing to sign petitions, even for the candidate running against me! A number of us pressed hard to have this election, and it would be unfortunate to see uncontested races or positions with no candidates at all.

The candidates are listed below alphabetically:
President: Nora Lopez; Nancy San Martin.
Vice President, Broadcast: Julio Cesar Chavez; Fin Gomez; Sergio Quintana
Vice President, Digital: Yvette Cabrera
Vice President, Print: Arelis Hernandez
Financial Officer: Diana Fuentes; Keldy Ortiz
Secretary: Rafael Olmeda; Blanca Rios
At-Large Officer (General): Steve Soliz, Mc Nelly Torres
At-Large Officer (Spanish Language Media): Jennifer Marcial, Rafael Mejia, Sal Morales.
At-Large Officer (Academic): Jessica Retis
Student Representative [can only be nominated by student members]: Kimberly Cruz (Cal State, Fullerton); Madison Goldberg (Emerson College); Kate Sequeira (USC Annenberg).
No one is being left off this list deliberately. If I’m missing anyone, it’s because I do not know you are running.
